The video that follows illustrates how much building a big vertical jump can pay off in high school. It shows a 5-11 player driving to the basket and dunking over a 6-6 defender in a state championship game played this month. Note when it is said he dunks over his opponent, that is to be taken literally.
Not every high school athlete will get such an opportunity but each and every athlete can vastly improve their vertical jump reach should they choose to do so. Big hops are not just for those born that way. Most athletes can work their way into that category as well.

I am so skeptical of this kind of stuff. I remember my friend in high school buying some crazy calf building shoes. Fact was, he was short and was never gonna be able to dunk.
PP-
I hear you, primarily because I've been associated with competitive athletics for decades as an athlete, coach and athletic director.
Like you, I learned that those jump shoes did little for vertical jump improvement. In fact, virtually everything I tried at best would add maybe four inches to a vertical jump.
Recently I came across this very comprehensive approach to improving jump reach and found it to be based in solid, well researched science. I can confirm that it does what it claims to do for virtually any athlete wanting to build better hops.
What is even more appealing is that if there were to be a case where it had little impact, the buyer can get a full refund. There is not one instance in the lifetime of this program when an athlete really did follow along with it and do the work where that athlete put in for a refund. In other words, for those who are sincere about adding at least ten inches to their vertical, it has worked every time.
This particular program has fully eliminated my long held skepticism.
