IMPROVING VERTICAL LEAP OFF A RUN

Anyone involved in a sport that requires the participant to jump, and that skill is a part of a wide variety of sports to a greater or lesser degree, knows that a standing jump off two feet almost always yields different results than does a running jump off of one foot or off of a two foot stop.

Leaping ability plays a central role in sports such as basketball, volleyball, high jump and long jump. But that skill also plays an important role in a large majority of other sports including football, baseball, soccer and the like.

In repeated instances, the ability to out jump an opponent on a given play can easily make the difference between success and failure.

The reality of live competition in sports dictates that participants have little time or opportunity to determine if they should jump off of two feet or off of one foot. Things happen in a matter of split seconds and when a leap is required, that skill deployment is automatic and not a function of a conscious decision making process.

Thus a committed competitive athlete is required to fully train their jumping skills from every perspective. One foot off the run, two feet off the run, two feet standing. It is critical to be prepared in every phase.

But how? The central question becomes: what must be done to develop the jumping skill so that it will automatically give athletes an edge in the heat of the competitive arena?

Is there one exercise that addresses all of the requisite needs? No, there is not. There are a number of important factors that must be trained in order to improve vertical leap be it off one or two feet or off the run or a standing position.

Thus it is necessary to seek out and engage in a comprehensive training system that addresses all of the factors associated with jumping.

There is no doubt that any number of training regimes will help to grow vertical leaping skills. In other words, there are a lot of ideas out there that can add inches to a jump reach. But without a full and complete approach, it is not possible to gain what some would consider staggering outcomes in jump improvement. It is not possible to reach full jumping potential.

Not to mention that most all of them require a tremendous amount of work for a very modest result.

That can be said for those who already have great hops and for those who do not. Literally anyone can build upon the numbers that they currently achieve. It is true that some athletes have more room to improve than others but that does not diminish the fact that virtually every athlete can improve a lot. And a lot more than they now consider or believe possible.

As already noted, to do so requires a comprehensive system that includes such factors as strength development, form enhancement, focused muscle training, proper nutrition, utilizing quickness in combination with strength, muscle recovery techniques and much more.

Is it possible to improve vertical leap off a run? Yes it is. More importantly that improvement can amount to as much as an additional ten inches in a vertical jump. The same can be said for a standing jump. Or jumps off of one foot or two feet.

How can such an eye popping result be achieved? The answer is simple but the work is hard. Any athlete can get there if they learn how to train every aspect of jump development and thereafter go to work to do so. Anyone, repeat anyone, can engineer a major improvement in their jumping ability.

The best time to start is right now. If you find yourself among those who want to earn the recognition and results due a leaper, or if you are already there, as a more effective leaper, wait no longer.

There is a system that when combined with your goal to grow your vertical leap, will get you up much higher than your current limits.

HOW IMPORTANT IS STRENGTH FOR VERTICAL JUMP?

There are a list of important factors that need to be in place in order to improve the ability to jump higher. The fact is this is true for everyone, from those who can barely get off the ground to those who are already over the 40" vertical category.

In other words, there is room for improvement no matter how high you jump right now. Are some people born with great hops? Most certainly, as we all know. The more critical question for them however is, can they train to jump even higher? Yes they can. And so can all of the rest of us as well.

Often in life, the more gifted tend to coast based upon their natural advantages. That works for a while but eventually everyone comes up against someone with the same or even better gifts.

On the other hand, those less naturally talented tend to learn early on that being smart and working hard can make up for a variety of disadvantages. Sort of the tortoise and the hare story.

Because of human nature, this works in the world of leapers as well. Anyone, naturally gifted or average, can dramatically improve their jumping skills and, the truth be told, because they have so much room for improvement, us average types can make spectacular advances.

But it takes a great work ethic as well as the right information to gain at least 10 inches in a vertical jump. Without a comprehensive approach to jumping development, the progress that is made is helpful but nowhere near what could be accomplished when all aspects of proper training are included.

Here are some of the key components to a full and complete jump training program:

1. Strength development is important, no matter what your given talent is to begin with. A quality program includes weight lifting. Most importantly however, it does not require that strength development happen only in a weight room. The best programs provide alternatives to weights that deliver the same results. Thus, a valid program is not dependent on weight room availability;

2. Teaching proper form is also critical. This is an area where gifted athletes are often weak and where the less gifted can make up a lot of ground. Like the basic fundamentals of any sport, it takes knowledge plus practice to develop proper form. It has zero to do with talent. This is an area, like strength development, where anyone and everyone can improve;

3. Working smarter, not harder is important. Understanding how to manipulate the recovery phase of training to advance results opens another path to better performance. Working smarter is not a function of talent, it is a matter of learning. Something every athlete can improve upon;

4. Learning and utilizing proper nutrition is another key factor. The jump furnace needs to be provided with the most useful fuel and knowing what that is and how to manage it will make a marked difference. This does not involve DNA. It requires a grocery store.

And there is a lot more that could be included with this brief list.

But the point is this, it takes a comprehensive and well researched approach to improve hops by 10 inches or more, thereby evolving into a leaper.

It is not just a matter of strength training, weight lifting and body building. That is an important component, but one of only many.

Jump development training that does not include all of the relevant factors will yield minimal improvement after a heck of a lot of work. After a while, it no longer seems to be worth it.

Gifted or not, there is progress to be made. Very significant progress in fact. But it will take work and even more importantly, it will take the knowledge and understanding of what to do and how to do it. All of it.

Finding a comprehensive jump development system with a well established record of success is what counts. It exists and it can grow your leaps and bounds.

FINDING THE BEST VERTICAL JUMP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

It makes no difference if you are already a leaper or if you are not. The important question is: what have you done to increase your vertical jump?

Most basketball, track and field or volleyball athletes are not now and never were fabulous jumpers. Others are blessed to have the ability to elevate as a gift passed along in their DNA.

However, in most all instances, neither group has spent much time properly developing the ability to leap. At the same time, almost every athlete involved in a sport that requires jumping wishes and hopes to be able to jump higher. But the fact is that very few actually know how to significantly improve their vertical or what is required to make that happen.

The good news is that the pathway to greater hops is out there and available. The bad news is that, like anything worth achieving, it takes acquisition of the proper knowledge and a definitive will to work to be able to jump higher.

As most any involved athlete can testify, there is an advantage to be gained by developing the ability to leap ever higher off the ground. It helps the hooper to secure the rebound, disrupt a shot or control the tip. In volleyball, it is essential to either blocking a shot or making one over the blocker. For a high jumper or long jumper it helps to achieve ever higher or longer measurements.

Athletes, even weekend warriors, are always looking for an edge. A better vertical is a definite advantage. Not to mention, it is great for the ego and for the further development of self confidence.

Since there are a variety of experts and gurus out there claiming to have the routine required to achieve results, what specifically are the qualities of a valid training program for improving vertical jump?

It is important to note at the outset that, although there are a few things that are counterproductive to developing leaping ability, most of what coaches, experts and gurus teach will help improve jumping.

However, the fact is that very few have the comprehensive approach required to gain eye popping outcomes. That would be the kind that makes a powerful and productive difference in performance while blowing away the competition.

To facilitate the process of finding a quality program, look for an approach that features most or all of the following characteristics:

1. A comprehensive approach to total vertical development. There are a notable number of aspects regarding better hops that need attention. Find something that addresses all of them. Anything short of that will yield only partial results and if you are going to do the work, it only makes sense to gain full benefit;

2. A fully guaranteed program. If there is not an option to get a full and complete refund, it is not a valid concept. Programs that generate meaningful results have all the confidence necessary to return an investment should the customer not gain the outcomes promised;

3. There should be online access. A user should be able to immediately download all the materials and media required to start immediately. More importantly, it must include online support so that users can get their specific questions answered by the program expert as well as the availability of some sort of forum to pick up tips from other users;

4. Common sense should indicate that the program developer knows what he or she is talking about. To the degree that outcomes can be documented by users, that information should be readily available. Further, the presentation should come across as reasonable and logical rather than seeming like a carnival side show barker's routine;

5. Finally, the price should be easily affordable and if the offer is really competitive, it should include some bonus items that sweeten the deal.

None of this is rocket science, but with all of the noise out there as to who to listen to and what to do, it can get confusing. Remember, there are plenty of good ideas but very few comprehensive systems that produce outcomes that make a significant difference.

When you want to be the best, go for the gold. Anyone can improve their vertical, regardless of where they start. Adding a lot of inches to a leap takes the proper knowledge and a good work ethic. If you have those, you can get a whole lot higher than where you are now or where you think you can be.

NEED A GOOD JOB? RUN YOUR OWN BUSINESS

Why do you think ever increasing numbers of people are choosing to be their own boss? Why is there a trend away from going to work for someone else or being a daily cubical drone in a large organization? What are people turning to as the alternatives to commuting to work every day?

There are plenty of answers to those questions but the message is clear: more of us are becoming entrepreneurial. More and more former employees are choosing to work for themselves rather than toil for the interests of others.

The fact is that should anyone find themselves in need of a good job, one of the best and most satisfying choices available is to find a business that they can own and run. For this very reason, it is becoming increasingly difficult for organizations of any size to find quality and dependable worker bees.

Not everyone is cut out to run a business of their own. A few among us just do not have the sauce that it takes to wade into the water by themselves. But the dirty little secret is out: most people have plenty of what it takes. They simply have not yet taken full stock of themselves. Just look around any community at the people who own businesses. You will see just regular folks who are determined to succeed at what they do and will find a way to do so. It is not magic, luck or rocket science. It does not require a long list of qualities or a huge bank account.

So what are some of the options that one can choose from in order to become their own boss? Here are a few of the standard choices.

1. Start or buy a brick and mortar business be it retail or service based. This means you would have a location like a store, a gym, a beauty salon, a restaurant, a cleaners and of course the list goes on. The challenge here is the amount of up front investment required to get started as well as the logistics of getting it ready to serve customers. The risk: after all the time and money invested it may not turn a profit.

2. If you have the qualifications and licences necessary, hang out your shingle as a professional be it in the health industry, in law, in financial and investment services, in the trades, in construction and so on. Some of these require office locations, others do not. In some cases the up front expense of attaining the required professional status is very costly, meaning you start out in a deep financial hole. The risk: lots of competition in a very slow economy can mean that the business and the business owner remains underwater.

3. Invest in a franchise. There are a wide variety to choose from in any number of fields and there are many people who take a run at being a franchisee, especially if it is a turnkey business that they find attractive. What makes this choice sometimes difficult is the buy-in expense. Some go as low as ten grand but others cost up to half a million dollars to purchase. The risk: most of these require that you hire reliable people to make it work and factors such as turnover or employee theft become major financial headaches.

This short list is far from complete but it does cover the most traditional self-employment choices. The good-no make that great-news is that an option exists with a very large upside potential and not much downside risk.

It allows you to be your own boss, get involved at very little expense, provides a huge marketplace within which to do business, generates direct as well as residual income, is not a franchise, does not require a brick and mortar location, has no degree or license standards and is fully flexible enough to fit any schedule.

Further, it lets you work at your own pace. Most importantly, your financial success is limited only by your imagination and your time. There are no other qualifications.

Why not run your own business? What would it take to get you into that game?

WHAT IS HOLDING YOU BACK?

SMART BOOMERS EARNING MONEY ONLINE

What is one certain characteristic that the baby boom generation has consistently demonstrated in the post-WW2 era? Answer: they march through the decades to the beat of their own drummer.

Boomers, as they are identified in slang, have never been much for the status-quo or for precedent, which has played itself out over time for both the better and the worse. Regardless of the outcomes however, this massive generation now marches on into semi or full retirement like life as they age into their 60's. As has been the hallmark of this demographic, they do so in a distinctly different manner than preceding generations.

Generally speaking, boomers are not retiring quietly. In fact, many if not most are not interested in traditional retirement status. They have too much they want to do and they fully buy into the concept that 60 is the new 50 . And since most are at least somewhat tech savvy and health smart, they remain active in ways unknown or unavailable to their parents.

Notably, the boomer generation was probably the hardest hit by the recent recession in terms of the damage done to retirement accounts, property values and investments. That, coupled with an ever active mindset, means that these are people who seek alternative means to work smarter and continue to earn income.

One major alternative to doing so is utilizing the world wide web. Smart boomers are increasingly doing more and more business on the Internet and in the process earning additional income online.

Frankly, making money on the web is basic common sense. It allows everyone, not just boomers, to run a home based business since the only real requirement is Internet access. Unlike most other careers, doing so does not include the frustration and expense of commuting. There is no boss to report to or office politics to endure. Work can be done anytime, any day, from literally anywhere. Thus it is convenient and easy. No stress, no scheduling conflicts.

Not to mention, an online business serves an international marketplace of literally hundreds of millions of prospective customers. It runs the proverbial 24/7 all year around and is always accessible by computer.

This type of enterprise allows the entrepreneur to earn residual income whether or not they are themselves online at any given time. This allows an online businessperson to be offline, on vacation, sound asleep or engaged in whatever they choose to do and still be making money.

The fact is that owning and running an Internet business is easily within the reach of virtually anyone, not only smart baby boomers. Students, stay at home spouses, the underemployed or unemployed, those looking to supplement family income or even seniors long since retired can earn income online in their spare time.

There are a few important features to look for when searching out an Internet business opportunity. They include:

1. Find something that requires no waiting to start;
2. It is important to begin with an opportunity where no specific experience is necessary;
3. Importantly, all of the required training, resources and support MUST be provided;
4. It should be reasonably priced and offer options relative to the level of cost commitment;
5. It needs to have a track record of success and access to assistance when needed.

Getting involved in an online business means doing your research. Remember that success within the right Internet income opportunity is limited only by your imagination and your time.

Literally tens of thousands of individuals and a similar number of companies make money online. The web offers the largest free market in the history of the planet. WHY NOT GET IN THE GAME?
