CLIMATE CHANGE FLAW: THEORY IS NOT FACT

As the following article illustrates, Obama's new science advisor, John Holdren, is big on theory but wholly lacking in common sense.

Like Obama he is arrogant and intellectually dishonest. Holdren literally advocates the possibility of humans controlling climate on planet earth. Doing so destroys his credibility as a "scientist" and paints him as a bit of a doctrine driven Harvard loon.

Holdren thinks he has the answers. The truth is he does not even acknowledge the reality and documented history of the constant process of climate change. Wake up pal, fact trumps theory every time, especially when there is no hard science to support your rather harebrained theory. Computer models are useful for theories but useless as hard data.

Humans have never and will never control climate chance. We are way down the list of influential factors, somewhere behind the sun, the wind, ocean currents, volcanic activity, huge wildfires, trees and a host of others. Only a fool, sold on his own theoretical nonsense, would dare to suggest that we can control climate.

The choice of theorist Holdren as his science advisor reveals a deep flaw in the judgment of the President. Of course Obama has stated in the past that the science is settled relative to the global warming effect of man made carbon. That belief is also based upon guesswork by "scientists". As previously stated, there is no hard scientific evidence to support such doctrine driven claims. In fact, there is hard science that casts serious doubt on the entire man made global warming mantra.

Should we be better stewards of earth? Most certainly. Can we clean up our pollution producing act? Yes and we are doing more so each and every day.

Can we control planetary climate change? Never! Holdren and his fellow theorists can take that fact to the bank.

AP Newsbreak: Obama looks at climate engineering

WASHINGTON (AP) - The president's new science adviser said Wednesday that global warming is so dire, the Obama administration is discussing radical technologies to cool Earth's air.
John Holdren told The Associated Press in his first interview since being confirmed last month that the idea of geoengineering the climate is being discussed. One such extreme option includes shooting pollution particles into the upper atmosphere to reflect the sun's rays. Holdren said such an experimental measure would only be used as a last resort.
"It's got to be looked at," he said. "We don't have the luxury of taking any approach off the table."
Holdren outlined several "tipping points" involving global warming that could be fast approaching. Once such milestones are reached, such as complete loss of summer sea ice in the Arctic, it increases chances of "really intolerable consequences," he said.
Twice in a half-hour interview, Holdren compared global warming to being "in a car with bad brakes driving toward a cliff in the fog."
At first, Holdren characterized the potential need to technologically tinker with the climate as just his personal view. However, he went on to say he has raised it in administration discussions.
Holdren, a 65-year-old physicist, is far from alone in taking geoengineering more seriously. The National Academy of Science is making climate tinkering the subject of its first workshop in its new multidiscipline climate challenges program. The British parliament has also discussed the idea.
The American Meteorological Society is crafting a policy statement on geoengineering that says "it is prudent to consider geoengineering's potential, to understand its limits and to avoid rash deployment."
Last week, Princeton scientist Robert Socolow told the National Academy that geoengineering should be an available option in case climate worsens dramatically.
But Holdren noted that shooting particles into the air—making an artificial volcano as one Nobel laureate has suggested—could have grave side effects and would not completely solve all the problems from soaring greenhouse gas emissions. So such actions could not be taken lightly, he said.
Still, "we might get desperate enough to want to use it," he added.
Another geoengineering option he mentioned was the use of so-called artificial trees to suck carbon dioxide—the chief human-caused greenhouse gas—out of the air and store it. At first that seemed prohibitively expensive, but a re-examination of the approach shows it might be less costly, he said.

30 years ago, The Rondout creek in NY's Ulster County suffered from the pollution impact of 100 years of use as an industrial source, including dumped pcb's and effluent from paper mills. In the 1960's there were no fish in the last 30 miles of the stream. Today it is a popular spot for anglers, and the stream has parks along side it. In spite of what environmental radicals would tell us, we have come a long way in the last 40 years, and these are provable changes to provable damage. The press ridiculed President Reagan for casting a skeptical eye on global warming, but the intervening years have come no closer to proving this theory, and recent global events ought to give a sensible person pause to question the whole thing. Unfortunately AGW's biggest proponents see it as a major cash cow, President (Cap&Trade) Obama included. It's not about the environment, it's about the money.

Don-

You have hit the proverbial nail upon the head. That is exactly what is driving the faux global warming crowd. A lot of people have gone for it hook, line and sinker.

I always point at the sun when folks go off about man made global warming and ask, "Hey, what effect does that gigantic burning ball of gas in the sky have on our environment? I mean isn't that where all this heat is coming from in the first place?" :)

Most certainly the sun is King in the world of climate change. Fact is, increased sun spot activity has been the main cause of warming during recent times.
