WEB: AUTHENTIC NEWS & OPINION

The king is dead. Network news along with America's former major newspapers have, this very year, walked the plank of credibility and ended their role as the necessary and important fourth estate in our society. You can stick a fork in the big biased media.

They openly and publicly fell on their pro-Obama swords all during the general election cycle, showing themselves to be proudly biased and, in the process, caring not for their reputations, their credibility or their market viability. That high profile suicide has been wholly unprecedented and it is a death that so disgraces their profession that any recovery is, at best, a long way off.

Advertisers are heading for alternative means to deliver their message. As readership and viewership goes into steep decline, their audience has become too small to justify big dollar advertising rates.

According to the article below, a recent poll reveals that more people trust the Internet as the most reliable source of news. Of course, why shouldn't they? Most web site news and opinion sources do not try to hide their point of view. Web surfers are free to go from right to left to middle on the political spectrum and read the information they choose from each or every one of the sites they find. Best of all, almost all of it is free of charge.

By serving up all the news and opinion fit to post from virtually every perspective, the Internet leaves the audience with the opportunity to make up their own minds once they have done their research. No smoke and mirrors. No misdirection. No manipulation hiding behind a facade of "news" that is, in fact, selectively presented for reasons of doctrine and agenda.

Most all web news and opinion sites are open as to their political orientation. Few present any faux front meant to fool visitors as to their perspective and intent. More than the big biased media, the Internet is reliable and predictable. More importantly, it provides the opportunity to consider the full spectrum of opinion and news at the touch of a finger. The visitor is not restricted to a single source or just a few sources. On the web, the world is your oyster.

Notably, most all big biased media outlets have a web presence as well. Thus anyone can consult CBS News, the New York Times, Newsweek or any of the others, should there be an interest in reviewing how news and opinion is being manipulated. Thereafter, a visitor can move on to a world of other resources, literally. In the process, people can gain a much more balanced view of events and issues then provided by the shamed and failed long time electronic and print media.

We live in the wonderful world of virtually unlimited sources of information. Americans have in the recent past and will continue long into the future to turn to the World Wide Web for their news and opinion. It is our pathway to gaining the information necessary to make informed decisions based upon a multiplicity of resources and a variety of views.

It is the end of manipulation and it makes our democracy stronger.

Most Consider The Web Most Reliable Source of News

Well, this says something.

A Zogby Poll, commissioned by IFC, found 37.6% of those asked consider the Internets the most reliable source of news. 20.3% consider national TV news most reliable and 16% say radio is the most reliable source.

Also revealed:
• 39.3% of those surveyed trust FOX News most for the issues they consider most important, followed by CNN with 16% and MSNBC with 15%.
• 72.6% believe the news they read and see is biased.
• 88.7% Republican and 57.5% Democrat respondents describe the news media as biased.Zogby surveyed 3,472 adults nationwide on November 5 and 6.

The poll was conducted on behalf of IFC which this week debuted a new show called The Media Project which, "reveals the truth behind TV news."
